This is a journey. A journey that is designed to take you over hill and dale looking for tupperware hidden in the woods. It can show you parts of your own community you may have never paid attention to before. It can also transform you from lethargic, barely interested individual into an active participant in a rewarding outdoor lifestyle.
This is what geocaching has done for me personally. Mind you I'm still at the beginning of this journey. I started caching less than a month ago. This blog is to be a chronicle of my weight loss efforts through caching and I am anxious to share what I learn along the way.
I'll lay it on the line by divulging my weight on a weekly basis, my own nutritional choices, non-caching related workout to supplement my efforts, and caches found (and some not) during my efforts. It should be said that I am not any type of trainer or medical professional. I work for one of the foremost companies in the world to promote a healthy, outdoor lifestyle. It is through these resources I have teamed with a trainer with whom I've consulted on a positive plan to lose weight utilizing geocaching.
So begins my personal mission to become a more active and fit individual the geocaching way. I welcome you to join me. The caching community has been great to me so far. There are caches everywhere and for every level of activity desired. Just get started. I'll warn you though, it's really true what the cachers say. Once you start you won't want to stop. Go to http://www.geocaching.com/ for more information. I'll see you on the trails.
